P.O.L. Hobbies: Carving
Some years ago I got interested in Northwest Coast Native art (okay, I went CRAZY for it), the kind that inspired me to create, Storm Boy. Next thing I knew I was learning to carve, and haven’t stopped since. So far I’ve made masks, boxes, chests, paddles, drums, button robes, headdresses, even a totem pole for my livingroom. I’ve been lucky to meet some pretty terrific carvers, too. Without their help and encouragement I would never have been able to create such wonderful things. My thanks to all of them! |
